Universal Music Australia are excited to launch our 2024 Internship program. Internships play an important part of our culture at UMA. Most importantly, Internships are an opportunity for university students to gain exposure to the inner workings of a corporate work environment, and to help them determine their career path as they complete their studies. The UMA Internship program is open to eligible students from tertiary institutions that are required to participate in work placement per the terms of their degree. UMA can only consider candidates who can enrol in the 'Internship' unit of study and will need to demonstrate enrolment in this unit before being offered an internship position. If you are an undergraduate student looking to gain some experience in the music industry, please check our current openings below: Marketing / Artist Development / PR Interns How you'll CREATE Assist artist departments with overall marketing tasks/campaign rollouts, including activations, contests etc. Assist marketing departments in creating and updating artist one sheets Assist in managing scheduling arrangements Gather and analyse social media statistics and overall impressions to enhance marketing strategies Create consumption reports Learn the ins and outs of data entry Conduct project research Bring your VIBE: Must possess passion for music & marketing Experience with Word, Excel, PDF and Canva preferred Photoshop/ InDesign skills Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills and efficiency Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments High level of integrity Discretion in handling confidential information Professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company A "can-do" attitude Artist Optimisation Intern (Digital Strategy Optimisation team) How you'll CREATE: Understanding how to optimise Artist profiles across different platforms Develop an understanding or the YouTube Ecosystem Understand music metadata and the building blocks of how music is delivered to partners Long-form & short-form video content ideation and potential creation Understanding on data & analytics relating to social media platforms and YouTube to understand content performance Understand the importance of Community and how to support artists in this space. Bring your VIBE: Strong attention to detail Highly organised individual wanting to learn on the job Familiar with YouTube platform and content optimisation a bonus Avid consumer of social platforms and video content Photoshop and video editing skills are a plus with an understanding of platforms such as: Adobe Creative Suite, InShot, Splice, and any additional editing software including in app social media editing. Interest in trends, technology platforms across all communities Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Discretion in handling confidential information Professionalism in dealing with senior stakeholders Social & Content Intern How you'll CREATE: Short form video content ideation Trend and campaign spotting and across social platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Discord Social captioning and asset creation Video & photo editing Data analytics (mostly related to social media and digital audience) Reporting (music video view comparisons, social stats, etc.), like-artist data comparison, and more. Bring your VIBE: Strong passion for Digital Marketing across artist, creator, and influencer campaigns. Avid consumer of social platforms and short-form content with keen interest in following creators Photoshop and video editing skills are a plus with a strong understanding of platforms such as: Adobe Creative Suite, InShot, Splice, and any additional editing software including in app social media editing. Interest in trends, technology platforms across all communities Graphic design, ability to create Canva decks at high level Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Organised individual willing to learn on the job Discretion in handling confidential information Professionalism in dealing with senior stakeholders inside Brand and Partnership Intern How you'll CREATE: Campaign ideation Concept development Social media & content creation (depending on the project, can range from copywriting, asset creation, ideation, etc.) Campaign look & feel & implementation (Adobe Suite) Video & photo editing (Adobe Suite) Data analytics (mostly related to social media and digital audience) Deck development and editing (Keynote) Bring your VIBE: Strong passion for Brands & Marketing at scale Photoshop and video editing skills are a plus with a strong understanding of platforms such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Splice, and any additional editing software including in app social media editing. Graphic design, ability to create Keynote decks at a high level Keen eye for rising social media trends, technology platforms, and fan engagement initiatives across social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Discord. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environment A real team player High level of integrity Understanding of & passion for music culture Who Can Apply You must be a current student at an Australian university / institute undertaking either an undergraduate Music degree or other degrees that are relevant to above.
