First Nation Pathways Program Traineeship - Port Bonython Programmed Training Services in partnership with Santos are working to create job opportunities for people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. These opportunities can act as a pathway into our Operations and Maintenance Apprenticeships and Production Operations Traineeship programs, providing an exciting career in the energy sector. Our First Nations Australians Pathways Program gives candidates the opportunity to work in one of the top oil & gas companies whilst learning and earning an income. The 12-month traineeships comprise of training, coaching and skills development which includes:Safety Knowledge.Teamwork.Exposure to and working with mechanical, production operators and electrical teams.Hands-on skills. To be successful in the role, you will need to have:A resident of Whyalla or the local areaAbility to work flexible hours including rosters up to 12 hours per day.Ability to complete a Certificate II in Engineering, Electrotechnology or Process Plant OperationsCompletion of year 10 (highly desirable).A valid Driver Licence (or ability to acquire licence by the completion of the program).Genuine desire to build a career in Oil & Gas Working across one of Santos' assets in Port Bonython, regional South Australia, the traineeships will be a mix of hands-on practical experience and classroom lessons. The positions are open to those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander school leavers wanting to start a career in oil and gas to mature-aged people looking to try something new. Santos has unique relationships with Traditional Owner groups across our operating footprint. This includes Barngarla, Bidjara, Bigambul, Boonthamurra, Dieri, Gaangalu, Gangalidda Garawa, Gomeroi, Iman4, Indjalandji-Dhidhanu, Kangolu, Karringbal, Kungardutyi Punthamara, Kullilli, Larrakia, Manadandanji, Port Curtis Coral Coast, Waanyi, Wadja Wadja, Wardingarri, Wongkumara, Wulli Wulli, Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka peoples.
