About the Role Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is partnering with a leading trailer manufacturer to recruit a Heavy Vehicle Body Builder Apprentice based in Brooklyn, VIC . If you're interested in fabrication, welding and manufacturing , this is an opportunity to learn a specialised trade while earning a nationally recognised qualification. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning how truck and trailer bodies are built, assembled, modified and repaired within a busy manufacturing environment. Gain a Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations (Bus, Truck & Trailer), with all TAFE fees covered, PPE supplied, and ongoing support from your Australian Industry Group Employment & Training Consultant throughout your apprenticeship. Please note: This apprenticeship focuses on the manufacture and fabrication of truck and trailer bodies. It is not a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship and does not involve engine servicing, diagnostics or mechanical repairs. Duties May Include Manufacturing and assembling truck and trailer bodies Assisting with fabrication, welding and metalwork tasks Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans Fitting and assembling trailer components Modifying and repairing trailer body structures Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas Following workplace safety and quality procedures Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team Location: Brooklyn, VIC Hours: Monday to Friday | 6:00am to 2:06pm | 38 hours per week About You We're looking for someone who: Has a genuine interest in fabrication, welding, manufacturing or building things Enjoys hands-on, practical work Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude Works well in a team environment Demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety Has completed Year 10 or equivalent Holds a current driver's licence (desirable but not essential) This opportunity is best suited to applicants looking to build a career in manufacturing and fabrication , rather than vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs.
