As part of the Embrace Student Internship Program, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to contribute to a six-week group program developed by clinicians for school-aged non-autistic siblings of autistic children. This role will contribute to the translation of ‘CliniSibs’ from an existing clinical service into wider practice through the community co-design of a self-paced online module for families and children, and a professional training package for clinicians. You will work closely with the Principal Research Fellow and other team members in a unique clinical research team, CliniKids, to support the development, implementation and refinement of program materials. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply research skills, capacity building and gaining hands-on experience in a research environment. Key responsibilities: Assist with the development, implementation plan, and refinement of program materials such as group materials, parent handouts, facilitator notes, manual. Develop content outlines for online learning modules. Assist with data collection and analysis activities. Communicate and coordinate with community partners and project stakeholders. Based within our CliniKids site in Subiaco, this casual internship position will be offered for an 100-hour period. About You Essential: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree (third/fourth year or Honours) or master’s degree in a mental health (e.g. psychology) or related health science (e.g. public health) field. Knowledge of research methods relevant to mental health, including qualitative and/or quantitative approaches such as interviews, surveys, focus groups, and observational data collection. Attention to detail and commitment to data quality, reliability, and reproducibility in research activities. Desirable: Demonstrated interest in child development, neurodiversity, and family mental health, particularly in relation to autistic children and their families. Ability to contribute to resource development, including educational content for online or in-person delivery. Understanding of co-design principles or willingness to learn collaborative approaches (i.e., with families and clinicians).
