ABOUT THE ROLE Avenues Australia is currently looking for a proactive accounting associate and bookkeeper trainee to join their small team and to provide financial administration services to NDIS participants as well as conduct accounting and bookkeeping for internal accounts. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to commit to developing knowledge of bookkeeping and financial administration; as well as an interest in working in the disability sector. As a Trainee, some responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Contribute to a healthy and safe workplace and understand the responsibilities and accountabilities to yourself and others in accordance with WHS legislations and internal policies and promote a working environment that is congruent with those guidelines Support clients and carers to have a basic understanding of their NDIS plan and their individualised budget Support NDIS Participants to increase their financial and plan management skills Develop an excellent understanding of the NDIS Pirce Guide Be a primary point of contact for any billing and invoicing concerns Conduct accounts payable Conduct accounts receivable Conduct reconciliations Assist payroll from time to time Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely and efficient manner The ideal candidate will possess: A willingness to understand financial management processes in the NDIS and community sector A willingness to development knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting. Good person-centred communication skills and ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people. The ability to understand and learn financial management IT systems quickly to support the documentation and protection of essential and sensitive client information.
