Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. The 12 month Intern Pharmacist position provides pre-registration training and ensures the capacity to provide appropriately trained hospital pharmacists to fill positions in NSW hospital needs areas. It was initially funded by NSW Health in response to the Garling Report but is now a permanent recurring position. The successful incumbent will assist pharmacists and support staff in the provision of pharmacy services at Blue Mountains Hospital under the supervision of registered pharmacists. This opportunity will allow you to gain experience in all aspects of the pharmacy service including medication dispensing, drug information and education, clinical pharmacy, taking best possible medication histories, preparing medication management plans, ward stock distribution, and inventory control.
