Resources & Infrastructure Work Preparation Traineeship - Identified . About the Role Gladstone Ports Corporation is seeking applications from First Nations people and Australian South Sea Islander people, for a number of Traineeship positions as part of Gladstone Ports Corporation’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The Traineeship, running for 24 months will rotate through four key areas of GPC namely, Building Services, Marina Operations, Horticulture and Warehouse/Supply. These areas have been chosen specifically to ensure the successful completion and attainment of a Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation. Reporting to the departments Supervisors and in conjunction with the Mentor and Liaison Officer, you will be accountable to undertake the duties in accordance with your training plan. Incorporating both theory and practical learning, the traineeship will provide varied work opportunities from office based to manual work. In addition, you will: Undertake safe work practices and promptly address any safety issues for hazard minimisation and injury prevention. Perform work to ensure quality job completion within identified timeframes About You We are looking for passionate trainees who show great personal drive and a commitment to a zero harm safety culture. Your desire to learn new skills and ability to communicate across all levels, will be evident. Mandatory requirements: Be 18 years of age or older, and be able to hold a high risk work licence (obtained through traineeship) Driver’s Licence (minimum: Provisional Licence) , Be willing to undertake a police check, Eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC), Confirmation of Heritage (Statutory Declaration), and You identify as First Nations people and/or Australian South Sea Islander people.
