This opportunity is perfect for students entering Year 11 in 2025 who are eager to launch their career early. In this program, you'll gain real-world experience by working part-time at a Department of Education site, learning valuable workplace skills, and being paid while you finish Years 11 and 12. Who can apply? To apply for a 2025 traineeship, students must: be starting Year 11 in 2025 be permanent residents or Australian or New Zealand citizens or provide copies of Australian visas that supports the traineeship contract requirements. Home school students are not eligible for school-based traineeships as they are not enrolled in a school and do not meet the achievement requirements of WACE through home education studies. What you can expect Trainees will: work 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday) in a public sector agency and this counts towards their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) complete a nationally recognised Certificate II in Government qualification receive support from a workplace supervisor to develop workplace skills for future employment.
