As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern on the Ample team, you will need to be a hands-on person focusing on supporting the validation & scaling of our operations and products. This includes equipment specification and equipment commission, as well as, establishment and optimization of process parameters. You will work closely with internal cross-functional teams, external vendors, and technology partners on process development from concept / prototype phase to product introduction. Additionally, you will be at the forefront of building cutting edge assembly lines and automation cells. Our team is building the next generation of assembly lines, which will allow our operations team to produce next gen battery technology, at best-in-class quality and rate, in a safe and ergonomic environment. What you'll do: Improve current R&D production and develop high volume production processes for key sub systems. Work closely with design engineers and provide input for production scaling. Design and develop new assembly processes with full documentation support Drive the standardization of processes and implementation of metrics and best practices. Work with Quality and Test teams to deliver a robust and cost-effective end to end process. Assist in setting annual operational targets and drive improvements to achieve those targets. Design of volume manufacturing equip.; conveyance, lift assists, jig, fixtures, trolleys, robot end-effector, etc. Conduct equipment and manufacturing process design reviews and provide guidance Coordination with other process, mechanical, electrical and support disciplines including project managers, manufacturing reps and other stakeholders What you'll bring: Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Candidates must be graduating on or before August 2025 Analyze current production data and determine the best options for process improvement tactics Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Control, and attention to detail Strong problem analysis and problem resolution Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. Strong mathematical and analytical skills Promote efficiency and safety in the plant Support the Engineering Change process to develop and deliver modifications and changes to maintain or improve the safe and reliable operation of our assembly lines. Identify and implement new technologies, specification of requirements, Capex justification, planning and implementation.
