Good communication and IT skills are advantageous. Automotive Parts Interpreters sell automotive spares, replacement parts and accessories in dealerships, repair shops or retail stores. This is a pathway that can lead to a variety of opportunities in automotive, sales, customer service, or administration. What you’ll be doing… You will complete a Certificate III Automotive Sales (Spare Parts Interpreter) over 36 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer. Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to: Identify the make, models of automotive equipment Ensure parts are appropriately put away and warehoused Talk to customers and recommend appropriate parts Check databases to identify and locate parts Order parts from warehouse and external suppliers Prepare invoices for the sale of stock. Process cash and credit transactions Collect, pack and dispatch or delivery ordered parts Participate in stocktaking and update computer data Set up merchandise displays What you’ll bring to the table… To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria: Ability to work as part of a team Commitment to both on and off the job training A can-do attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work safely and follow instructions Have an honest disposition High attention to detail Eligibility Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent Australian resident Have a current South Australia Driver's licence National Police Clearance (willing to obtain) Be willing to undertake formal training through a 3-year apprenticeship To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
