You can earn while you learn and gain a qualification What can you gain from completing a traineeship through Work & Training? You would be employed by Work & Training – the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted for the duration of your traineeship. You would receive professional guidance from your immediate supervisors, as well as mentoring and support from a Work & Training consultant. The theory side of your qualification would be conducted one-on-one in the workplace, with expert tuition, by registered trainers. On completion of your traineeship you would receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Dental Assisting – HLT35021. What would this involve? Work Monday to Friday in the Dental Practice. Train to assist dentists and hygienists’ chair-side. Gain an understanding of the instruments & dental equipment used. Train in sterilisation techniques for equipment. Learn all about infection control. Oral pathology and physiology is covered. There will be the opportunity to assist with oral surgery. Obtain a good understanding of the administrative aspect of Dental Assisting. Trainers come to the workplace to teach and assess. Wage: National Training Wage applies.
