Accounting / Audit Internship (12 Weeks) — Melbourne CBD, Melbourne

We are looking for an Accounting Intern with a basic knowledge of principles and terms who is ready for an immersive real-world experience. Internship Overview: The host is an organisation dealing with core accounting operations that are looking to onboard 10 enthusiastic Accounting Interns (student/graduate) to join their accounting team. You will work closely with the Program Director, Team Manager, and other qualified executives to deliver high-quality work. Role and Responsibility: Assisting in the collection and preparation of monthly financial reports Maintaining journal and general ledger entries Coordinating with the Accounting Officer during audits and annual forecasting Communicating with the Accounts Payable Manager and Accounts Receivable Manager to track pending invoices Undertaking data entries and balance sheet reconciliations Assisting the accounting team in researching and analysing our financial data Maintaining accurate and detailed inventory records Performing administrative duties such as preparing invoices and updating accounting files, as and when required Cross-checking financial statements and data for accuracy Using accounting software when performing accounting duties such as generating financial reports Assisting the payment processing team in undertaking credit checks Adhering to the State and Federal regulations when performing accounting duties Ensuring completion of assigned tasks as per the timeline provided Preparing and verifying expense reports and statements Assisting in filing IT returns Requirements: Shadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties. Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records. Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents. Working with bookkeeping software. Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity. Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients.
