Previous applicants need not apply. Garrawarra Centre is an Aged Care facility that offers person centred care to residents living with Dementia. We are offering an exciting and unique opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification of Certificate 3 in Health Services Assistance while working as a trainee Assistant in Nursing, gaining experience in aged care and dementia specific nursing care. This opportunity is available to participants who would like to commence an entry into Nursing, who would like a paid gap year before commencing further studies or have always wanted to be a Nurse. The positions are 13 month temporary full-time positions, working a rotating 24hr, 7 day a week roster. The theoretical component is conducted by TAFE NSW and trainees are paid to attend classes. The program will commence on Monday 12 February 2024. Where you'll be working Garrawarra Centre is located between Helensburgh and Waterfall on the ourskirts of the Royal National Park. The centre provides person centred care to 104 residents living with Dementia. Provision of support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Assist Registered and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing. All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
