We now have the opportunity for a talented social media intern to join us in our Sydney CBD office.

Joining our start-up means you’ll have the opportunity to be one of our early-stage employees of a start-up that is set to change the face of share ownership, loyalty and the rewards industry.

We’re looking for a motivated self-starter who is keen to learn and grow within one of the most exciting FinTechs of the decade.

About you

The team at Upstreet are on the hunt for an articulate and enthusiastic social media intern to join our team. You’ll be fully supported with a social media plan where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about growing an audience, building an engaged community and have access to social media platforms to show off your best work.

You have an infectious personality and a zest for sharing news with others in an engaging way. You have excellent oral and written communication skills and have strong attention to detail. You love absorbing the news and like asking thought-provoking questions.

You’ll be offered guidance and mentoring on creating the best captions, and thereafter we want to see you shine with your learned copywriting and caption writing skills on your own.

You’ll be expected to keep up with the latest news and come up with fresh, creative content ideas and have a good grasp of social media technology and tools such as ‘stories’ and trending hashtags and have basic video and photo editing skills.

The role can be filled as part-time or as a 3-month full-time contract. Your workdays can be scheduled around your university timetable.


  • Creating and publishing social media posts across all channels
  • Monitoring and engaging with our online community
  • Creating social media assets on Canva
  • Proofreading blogs
  • Publishing scheduled blogs
  • Taking photos, and videos and editing them for social media
  • Conducting basic interviews with staff and customers

Required Skills

  • Students completing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field
  • An understanding of internet marketing and SEO
  • Experience with Canva
  • Experience with basic photo and video editing
  • Photoshop skills would be highly regarded
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic
