About Akuna: Akuna Capital is a young and booming trading firm with a strong focus on cutting-edge technology, data driven decisions and automation. Our core competency is providing liquidity as an options market-maker – meaning we provide competitive quotes that we are willing to both buy and sell. To do this successfully we design and implement our own low latency technologies, trading strategies and mathematical models.
Our Founding Partners, Andrew Killion and Mitchell Skinner, first conceptualised Akuna in their hometown of Sydney. They opened the firm’s first office in 2011 in the heart of the derivatives industry and the options capital of the world – Chicago. Today, Akuna is proud to operate from additional offices in Sydney, Shanghai, and Boston.
Akuna Sydney opened in early 2018 and is at the centre of Akuna’s Asian trading operations. Akuna’s focus in Asia is currently trading HK, cryptocurrencies and US night markets and is looking to expand to trading on all major Asian exchanges. Employees will work together towards achieving Akuna’s goals across all areas of the business, including trading and desk buildout, cutting-edge research and data analysis, strategy creation, and building ultra-low-latency trading systems that are tailored to local market conditions.
What you’ll do as a Development Intern on the User Interface (C#) team at Akuna:
We are seeking Development Interns to join our innovative and growing technology team in our Sydney office for our 10-week internship program, Akunacademy, which will run from December 16th through February 21st, 2020. In this role you will work directly with traders, quants, and other software developers to design, build, test, and maintain real-time data visualisation tools. The applications you build will allow traders to understand market conditions, assess risk and control Akuna’s trading engines
The UI team uses C# to create multithreaded user interfaces which handle high volumes of data and provide traders with a real-time view of the markets. Performance is key and we’re always looking for more efficient and innovative ways to view the markets.
As Development Intern, you’ll be part of a knowledgeable, collaborative, and motivated engineering team. You’ll learn to write high performance C# applications and help develop and fine tune our existing systems.
